Fees

Chocolate Butterflies attempts to provide a wide range of facilities at low cost. Currently, the fees for the kindergarten are paid by the city of Munich and the state of Bavaria. Please find more information here. Income-dependent subsidies for the after-school Hort are also available.

The association surcharge, the admission cost, the membership fee, and the food cost are still to be paid by the parents. In addition to the fees, all parents are expected to help out at least 4 hours/month (please check out „What is a Parent Initative?„).

For example: For a 9+ hours kindergarten booking parents pay 169€ per month (80€ association surcharge + 89€ food) and a yearly membership fee of 100€. The monthly kindergarten fee of 242€ is covered by the city of Munich and the state of Bavaria.

Depending on income, parents can apply for partial funding of kindergarten fees by the Youth Welfare Office („Jugendamt“) of the City of Munich.

Apart from the period from Christmas (December 24th) through the Feast of the Epiphany (January 6th), public holidays, and the last three weeks of August, the kindergarten is open all year. Sometimes if a public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the kindergarten may remain closed on the Monday or Friday, thus closing for a long weekend.
