The kindergarten welcomes children of all cultural backgrounds whose native tongue is
German and/or English.
Appropriate activities for each age group, including fun and games, are used to support the early learning of both languages. At our kindergarten, the English and German languages are treated with the same importance. The teachers speak to the children in their own native tongue, i.e. the English-speaking teachers use English and the German-speakers use German when talking to the children. Due to the high teacher-child ratio of 5 teachers for 25 children, we can offer ideal encouragement, not just for language learning. The various activities in kindergarten, e.g. circle time, art or sports, are carried out in the native tongue of the teacher responsible. In order to make the beginning go more smoothly, we offer an external Helen Doron English course for the native German speaking children at the kindergarten. In addition, there is an external pre-school course for all children who are native English speakers. This reflects the different school requirements for the English school system. In addition, at the Chocolate Butterflies kindergarten, we prepare all the children who are in their last year of kindergarten for their entry into the German school system. |
